REGULATORY ACTIVITY:
- Posted notice of proposed rulemaking regarding public, staff and independent adjusters. This rule applies to resident and non-resident persons seeking licensure to provide adjusting services in this state, as defined in Article 13 of 59A NMSA 1978. The purpose of this rule is to set forth licensing requirements of public, independent and staff adjusters in this state. The proposed effective date of the rule is April 15, 2019. REGULATORY ACTIVITY:
- Published Bulletin 2018-002 regarding interest rate applicable to unpaid claims 45 days after required proof of loss has been furnished. The bulletin provides for the 2018 calendar year the interest rate is set as one and one-half times 4.50%, which is equivalent to 6.75%. This interest rate shall remain in effect until the Superintendent completes a review of the interest in January 2019 and issues a new bulletin.
