FEE SCHEDULE NEWS:
- The state has posted new changes to the hospital and ASC fee schedules effective July 1, 2017. The hospital update includes changes effective July 1, 2017. The next expected update is for October 1, 2017.
- The state has posted a new physician fee schedule effective January 1, 2017. A new fee schedule is expected to be adopted with an effective date of January 1, 2018.

LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS:
- House Bill 242
The acts amends Section 25-5-50, Code of Alabama 1975. It relates to the exemption of workers' compensation coverage by removing the requirement for a corporate officer to submit a written worker’s compensation exemption certification with the Alabama Department of Labor file with the Department of Labor. The act also adds individual limited liability company member to corporate officers that can exercise the exemption. Effective Date August 17, 2017.

- The state has posted a new Physician and Hospital fee schedule effective January 1, 2017. The rates for the ASC centers remain unchanged from the previous update.
- New changes to the hospital and ASC fee schedules are expected to be posted around April 1, 2017.
